Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were mostly unchanged at elevators, mills and terminals in the southern US Plains on Wednesday, grain merchandisers said. Dealers said they began loading barges along river channels late on Tuesday afternoon, as rising water started to recede. Dealers said farmers were in holiday mode and wouldn't expect any selling until the first of the year.
